Fun

Easter or Resurrection Sunday is one of my favorite holidays. I love making it fun for my children. We do not do the Easter bunny..we dedicate it all to remembering what Jesus did for us. A good way to remember is to do this crafty treat with them. Here is what you do! You will need biscuits in the can, a bag of large marshmallows, and cinnamon sugar. All of my children were able to jump in on this. Begin by telling the story of Jesus. Yesterday was Good Friday...so we went over the significance of this day. Then we talked of Jesus death give each child a marshmallow which represents the body of Christ. Lay the Marshmallow on the dough and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow. Roll the whole thing in cinnamon and sugar mixture. This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial. Make sure all seams are pinched together well. (Otherwise the marshmallow will "ooze" out of the seams.) Bake according to the package directions. Break open the tomb and the body of Christ is no longer there!!! Celebrate God's LOVE! He is alive! My kids loved doing this and it is actually a very tasty treat! :)
