Birthdays

So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.--Genesis 1:27 (Amplified Bible)

Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.--Genesis 2:7

Yesterday, we celebrated the life of my husband.  41 years old.  I love that man!  It is interesting to see how people react to age as I get older.  Children have fun parties, while the older ones there is nary a gift and we throw it together like it was an after thought.  We talk about how we cannot believe how old we are...and some of us refuse to "reveal" our age.  Birthdays do not have the same excitement or expectation and some of us are even depressed on these days.  


It is sad to me.  God made you.  God made me. God.  Not only did he make us...He made us in His very image.  A big reason why satan hates us so, because every time he sees a human He is reminded of God Himself.  God made you, He loved you.  He loves YOU.  The day you were born is a great day!!  Without the birth of that flesh..then that spirit that was to become a new creation when you received Jesus would never have been.  It is a day to rejoice over people...love people...and speak the goodness of God over them.  


In my house, birthdays are important. Giving gifts that they enjoy makes me happy!!  Rejoicing over people is so great!  Taking a day to thank God for them.  Speaking gracious loving words that bring encouragement and life.  We are surrounded by negativity everywhere with few people really valuing people.   It is time we bring honor and love to those we love and I think their birthday day is an AWESOME day to do that!
