Job

Job is a very interesting book to me. It is said to be the oldest of the books of Bible. I am not writing to really expound on my opinion here, but I was reading the last chapter today and it always amazes me.

"After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has." So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite did what the LORD told them; and the LORD accepted Job's prayer. . .."

I find it so interesting. I think to rightly divide the Word here..you must, must, must look at the consequences for what these people said. From these verses, I can deduce that the words that these men spoke did not please God and they are GREAT examples of what NOT to say or what advice NOT to give!! :) If you want to speak rightly about God...then do not imitate Eliphaz the Temanite and his two friends.

I do pray that if I am ever in bad straights that my friends will not behave this way!
