Are you hungry?

Have you ever been hungry? I mean REALLY hungry? It is hard to concentrate on anything else but your stomach. You will stop all that is around you to find something to eat. There is pain associated with great hunger. It is all consuming in your thoughts and even in your talk. "I have to eat!!"

I believe that the reason the United States does not see the great miracles we hear about in other countries or people walking for hours or traveling for hours to get to a service or meetings lasting for hours on end with no complaint is the lack of Hunger for God and His ways. Indifference to the Holy Spirit. Our focus is so absorbed with other things.

I am hungry for God. He is ever on my mind. I want to know Him. I want Him in all that I do. I want Him in my marriage, how I talk, how I vote, how I react to others, how I raise my kids, how I decorate, my interests, my thoughts, my relationships and friendships. There is nothing off limits to the One that loves me and cares for me.

I am VERY hungry!!! Are you?!

That bird peering at me cracked me up! As I soberly read your compelling post, he (she) made me laugh.

Seriously, though, and to answer your question: you bet I'm hungry! There is no such thing as an O.D. on God's word or His presence. And as I age, the more I get, the more I want; the more I want, the more He provides. And I'm still starved.

Hugs,
Kathleen

I'm hungry indeed!
And I am spoiled. Would I walk to church? Would I sit for hours? Not likely.
But, if you take away the ease and access, you bet I would. I would savor every moment and every opportunity, probably more than I do now.

It is the same with our stomachs. Very few of us know true hunger. We have too much access. We've been very blessed on both fronts.
